Lindsay West: Night Train

Lindsay WestWe recently received a generously mailed care package of two EP’s all the way from South-London based singer-songwriter Lindsay West about two months back. After being delayed in featuring a track we finally had the opportunity this evening after picking out our favorite song from the lot after many repeat listens.

Night Train is the fifth song on Lindsay’s EP, “No Place” – released in 2015. Its a beautiful and very well crafted song that appears to be a family story about the touching circumstances under how her father and mother met. This is quite the solid effort and like her other EP’s comes via Make Your Own Adventure Records.

Lindsay West’s influences come from the bare-all romanticism of Joni Mitchell, the story telling of Tracy Chapman and the eccentric playfulness of Kate Bush. She hopes she fits somewhere amidst the likes of Feist, Regina Spektor, Laura Veirs and Cat Power.
