Marsicans: Friends

Leeds [UK] indie-pop quartet Marsicans unleash new single Friends, the first of a string of releases on LAB Records planned for 2017, before heading out on tour through February and March.

Marsicans Finding that sweet spot between upbeat indie and dirty pop, the new single from Marsicans, ‘Friends’, is as infectious as it is electrifying. Pin-point vocal harmonies, skittish rhythms and playful guitars pave the way for an invigorating chorus that really kicks. The vibrant track is a poignant ode to those sticky, youthful bonds formed with a group of friends that stretch and flicker, but never break under life’s curve-balls and stresses.

From an early incarnation of raw 18 year-olds opening for an up-and-coming Catfish & The Bottlemen at a small venue in Wakefield, the band has come a long way. The last 12 months has seen Marsicans play sold-out shows in Leeds, London, Manchester, Sheffield and Lincoln, plus European dates, and a Glastonbury performance that was showcased as one of the BBC’s Best of Sunday highlights. Tracks from the band’s recent Absence EP grabbed airplay on BBC Radio 1, 6Music, Radio X, 3FM (Netherlands), BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, as well as good attention from the blogosphere and Spotify curators.

Hot off the heels of January shows in the Netherlands and France, and a UK tour supporting Minnesota’s Hippo Campus, Marsicans play a 9-date headline tour in February and March to promote the upcoming ‘Friends’ single, available to stream and download from all platforms from February 17th.
