Douga: Kids of Tomorrow

Douga

Manchester band DOUGA are about to release their debut LP, The Silent Well on the 19th of May via Do Make Merge Records.

Named after a childhood nickname given by his parents to founder, frontman, and former Plank! drummer Johnny Winbolt-Lewis, Douga recorded their album (sans vocals) at 80 Hertz studio with George Atkins, although the bulk of the record was recorded at BlueSCI – a service and space set up in Trafford, Manchester, for people who suffer from psychological and emotional distress. Winbolt-Lewis volunteers there and as such many of the sensitivities of those he comes into contact with have indirectly rubbed off on the record’s own reflective, deeply thoughtful resonance.
