Swimming in Speakers: All We Have

Swimming in SpeakersRecently the upstate New York folktronica duo SWIMMING IN SPEAKERS inserted themselves into the landscape of new releases with the debut full length, “Guessing the Others”, a conceptual LP requiring close to four years of planning, mixing and tracking to get just right.

Taken from that release, today’s dose is the free flowing track “All We Have”, our featured choice out of the sixteen excellent songs on this new album. This song starts off with the sultry vox from self taught vocalist Meadow Elizabeth, punctuated by the steadily increasing electronic beats bubbling up from below via multi-instrumentalist Chris Clarke.

All hell breaks loose following the 2 minute mark, as the crazy fluctuating electronic pulse hits a new level, levitating the vocals and making me wish I was experiencing this in a live setting. There’s no doubt each performance of this will be slightly different and we can only imagine the pure joy that would take shape in this final bit.

This excellent debut is also stocked with some surprisingly well crafted folk songs. For instance, take a listen to ‘Waters Vessel’ at the Bandcamp link below and let the group, and more importantly your favorite blogs know what you think.
