Schnauser: World of Whimsy

From their album The Sound of Meat on Pink Hedgehog Records

Schnauser: The Sound of MeatSchnauser play a mixture of psychedelic pop and instrumentals and have been influenced by a wide range of 60’s bands including Soft Machine, Egg, Blossom Toes, The Doors, The Kinks, Love and The Beatles. Schnauser is the brainchild and musical vehicle for songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Alan Strawbridge. Al has previously helped to write, play and record three albums with The Lucky Bishops, touring Spain and the United States; he recorded two albums and played occasional great gigs with Cheese; played drums and produced an album with The Bitter Little Cider Apples; toured extensively and recorded in Abbey Road (resulting in a chart single whilst signed to Chrysalis) with Orange. He currently plays, writes and is recording an album of psychedelic music with psych-pop outfit Gothic Chicken. Whenever he’s not working on his own music, he can often be found playing drums with his friend Anton Barbeau, as well as recording, producing and playing on two albums for fellow Dorset musician (and Pink Hedgehog label owner) Simon Felton. Following on from the amazing debut album ‘Kill All Humans’, Schnauser give us the stunning second instalment ‘The Sound of Meat’ – sure to be greeted with great awe and enthusiasm by fans of intelligent and clever pop music the world over!
