Heavy Feather Heavy Feather formerly Jackpot City combines crunchy chainsaw guitar rock with lush vocal harmonies and diverse instrumentation creating a unique sound. Before forming, the members of Heavy Feather already had impressive musical resumes. Mamie Fike played with the Chickasaw Mudd Puppies and Asa Nisa Masa, which were both produced by R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe. Kathy Kirbo is formerly of Greenhouse and Purr, which was produced by R.E.M.’s Mike Mills. Kelly Noonan played with Wet and Billy James (also produced by Mike Mills) and Ian Werden also plays with Dodd Ferrell and High Caliber. [MySpace]
