Bent By Elephants are a 7 piece folk rock band stationed in Montreal, linking patch-work improv pieces into rhythmic pop-folk songs.
Luke Fowlie and vocalist Chesley Walsh began BBE in the Spring of 2008. After a year of sorting out the line-up and nerves, Bent By Elephants recorded a short EP and is looking to get an LP recorded November 2009.
According to Exclaim magazine, “Victor” is about a guy named Victor that Chesley Walsh met on a road trip on the West Coast a few years back while visiting friends & family. She apparently ended up stranded with him in Sacramento due to ditched ride shares, and she subsequently got acquainted and admittedly admired his spiritual live-life-as-it-comes carefree attitude. They lost touch after the trip, but this song lives on:
