Hey Marseilles: Rio
Seattle, Washington’s Hey Marseilles plays simple folk songs, interweaving orchestral instrumentation with melodic musings on time and place. Having garnered favorable reviews since their formation in late 2006, including a spot on Seattle Sound’s “Top 10 Bands to Watch for 2008,” HM released their first full-length album, To Travels & Trunks in August ‘08.
Supporting the record with packed shows following the release, HM landed airplay on independent radio taste-maker KEXP and secured top ten listing on Seattle’s Three Imaginary Girls’ top Northwest releases readers poll. Additionally, Hey Marseilles was invited to SXSW 2009 as part of the SxSeattle party– a show headlined by the Fleet Foxes in 2008. HM has shared bills with Northwest acts Rocky Votolato, Throw Me The Statue, and The Builders and The Butchers.
