New Madrid Faults: Little Bullets

New Madrid FaultsYou may remember Los Angeles indie pop outfit Gertie Fox, and if so, you may also recognize some similarities shared with the new Bethlehem, Pennsylvania indie five-piece ‘New Madrid Faults’.  Apparently Matt Molchany of the Faults was a key member in the group Gertie Fox and moved back east after the group’s dissolution in 2007 to join up with friends to form New Madrid Faults.

Matt has luckily kept his contact list and sent us several tracks from what looks to be a debut EP potentially coming out this month on Ropeadope Records, a label started by the drummer of The Roots.  New Madrid Fault’s blog names the new album as ‘Concerning Small Town Aberration’ and we can only hope this song ‘Little Bullets’ will be on the final release along with the other exciting and solid tracks Matt sent over with.

New Madrid Fault has a blog where you can reflect on their occasional musings about Los Angeles, Bethlehem, and everything in between.  Do yourself a favor and drench yourself in sound at SXSW as they will be out and about in Austin – rumor has it on March 20th.  We also hope to bring you more from the EP soon, so stick around.
