Gregory & The Hawk: Grey Weather

Meredith Godreau of Gregory & The Hawk is a native New Yorker skilled in both piano and violin, and has independently released a CD selling over 15,000 copies, inspiring multiple several YouTube tribute videos along the way. She has done this all on her own without any help from labels, managers, or any supporting network, slowly collecting a fanbase that exploded when MySpace was at its peak a few short years back.

I’ve been following her for a while, since her Boats & Birds demo was released around ‘06, and was very happy to see that representatives from Fat Cat Records ran into a performance of hers in New York. They quickly signed her, and she was subsequently able to record the new album ‘Moenie & Kitchi’ which was released to the world this last week on October 7th.
