The Orphan Factory: Chinese Water Torture [For Mrs. Chang]

The Orphan FactoryPer listener request, today’s selection comes from the Los Angeles based solo project “The Orphan Factory” off the “Sketches, Demoes and Skeletons” collection.

‘Chinese Water Torture [For Mrs. Chang]’ was apparently written for the mother of the songwriter’s childhood friend, a quiet yet graceful Asian lady who took her own life after he had graduated from high school. At that point they realized living in a small rural town in Idaho had finally suffocated her. Its a very well crafted memorial that definitely deserves a wide audience.

Orphan Factory has several beautiful new songs for download at their site, from a potential future release called ‘Bedroom Demolitions’ as well as from the aforementioned ‘Sketches’. You can also purchase their EP ‘Night Shifts’ over on itunes.
