Written by Charles Stepczyk
From Oxford, Mississippi, comes a band called Colour Revolt that wants to bludgeon you to death by sound, and music. Colour Revolt’s members first played together while they were college students at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi under the name Fletcher. They take their current name, from Edwin Abbott’s mathematical novel, Flatland.
After Colour Revolt released their first self-titled EP, they signed with an Interscope subsidiary who re-released it in 2006. In the last few years they signed to Fat Possum Records, and released their full-length debut on April 1st of this year. Current plans include a ongoing tour with Snowden as well as appearances at Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo.
Their new album Plunder, Beg and Curse is available for purchase at e-music.
