Flowers for Dorian: Violent Skies

From: Phone Calls, Car Rides

Out of the ashes of metal core band Beneath This Ashen Sky, has grown the indie rock quartet Flowers for Dorian. Since forming in December 2005, the four long-time friends and seasoned musicians have captured the attention of music lovers and has continuously increased their fan base. Flowers for Dorian’s sound is characterized by intricate, interweaving guitar melodies and infectious hooks compliment lead singer Ty Hall’s poetic lyricism. FFD brings a refreshingly unique sound to the Chicago indie scene. While the band has brought their high energy performance to the stage of many esteemed Chicago venues — The Metro, Beat Kitchen, Clearwater Theater ,Lakeshore Theater, et al—the band is still no stranger to busted PA systems at basement gigs, roller rinks and hole-in-the-wall bars. “We’re kids who just plug in and play,” scoffs lead vocalist/guitarist Hall. That laissez-faire approach to performing at any and all venues has certainly held true, but the band’s stage presence is anything but meek. Flowers for Dorian has subsequently stampeded through indie and hardcore crowds alike with a smirk on their collective face.
