Bowerbirds: In Our Talons

Roosting in North Carolina, the trio of Bowerbirds recently signed to their favorite US record label Dead Oceans, home to bands such as Dirty Projectors, White Hinterland, Evangelicals, Citay, Phosphorescent, and Bishop Allen.

Dead Oceans will re-release Hymns for a Dark Horse, the album the band released last summer, which at the time didn’t have a wide distribution map in place. It will be issued on CD and vinyl and will be in stores this spring, with two new bonus tracks thrown in.

This is perfect indie-flavored americana for an outing in the dark wild reflecting on humanities effect on nature, or maybe just your pleasant typical afternoon of hiking to the local stick nest in your cleanest whites. [cs]
