Bimini Road: Lovesong Stickup
In August of 2015, Asheville North Carolina artist BIMINI ROAD released the Corinthian Arches EP, the today’s featured track Lovesong Stickup leading off the excellent six-track effort.
Mark Boyd is the force behind Bimini Road and grew up in near Cleveland, Ohio – eventually moving to North Carolina to pursue a career in music technology. In 2008, he helped launch the music electronics company Endangered Audio Research, which made a name for itself as the only authorized manufacturer of Throbbing Gristle’s rare, eponymous effect, The Gristleizer. Bimini Road also appears to be an artist-run label whose mission is to get musicians and artists from around the world paid for their work. The website states that they release affordable, high-quality cassette tapes whose cases can be unfolded into miniature works of art.
