Former drummer of Montreal indie group Islands, Aaron Harris entered the Brooklyn scene in 2009 when he started Steel Phantoms. Jesse Newkirk soon joined the band and now the Harris/Newkirk duo melds elements from the history of proto-punk, alternative, and modern indie to reach wide-ranging territory unexpected from a two-piece.
Steel Phantoms first recorded a self titled EP in 2010, followed by the Forer EP in 2011, and in late 2012 they put out today’s featured track, the introduction to the emergent sounds from a new EP due for mid-2013 release.
