Sunhaze: In the Shadows

Formed in 2012, Sunhaze originated from the vision of Danae LabraƱa, a San Francisco transplant hailing from the shores of Santa Barbara. Through the next few years the membership count was fleshed out to the current count of five band-mates through 2016, with several shorter releases issued by the band up to their debut 11-track LP, “Wishful Thinking” released in October of 2016.

The debut LP is described as having more darker undertones and dynamic rhythm than the previous release, with the stellar track “In the Shadows” anchoring the collection, bringing to mind the brilliance of bands like the Pixies, Raveonettes, or even Scanners. The entire LP is a $7 with more music available dating back to 2014. A great video off their LP for another single from the album “Buddy” is embedded below, directed by Scott Hoage.

(Some) Influences: Arctic Monkeys, Phantogram, Warpaint, Grizzly Bear, Beach Fossils, The Strokes, Tame Impala, Alt-J, The Neighbourhood
