The Morning Yells: She Got Time
Venice Beach, CA based band THE MORNING YELLS evolved from the brother-sister duo Phil and Lu (Phil and Laura Stancil), and released their debut album “Mood Rock” in late 2016. The siblings, who have been playing music together their entire lives, are now joined by fellow multi-instrumentalists Trevor Smith and Curran McDowell. The foursome will release the five-song EP “Proper Wilted” on October 6th, representing just a handful of the roughly fifteen songs the band has written over the past year.
“We grew up in a family band, playing roots-rock and folk music at festivals and local watering holes throughout Michigan, where we’re originally from. Our Dad taught us everything we know about music, and we fell in love with Beach Boys, America and The Moody Blues by digging through his record collection.” – Phil Stancil
“Proper Wilted” was recorded by Mark Rains, best-known for his work with artists as diverse as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Waylon Jennings. The Morning Yells is currently working on a second EP, and will continue to perform in and around Los Angeles throughout the rest of 2017. “She Got Time” is the beautiful first single from the forthcoming new EP.
