Wood Chickens: King of Siam
Today after randomly searching for Wisconsin bands on a hunch, I miraculously ran into the brilliant new album by Madison, Wisconsin punkabilly band, WOOD CHICKENS. Their debut thirteen track debut “Countrycide” LP just released on June 2, 2017 via Big Neck Records and its currently available for just $5 on BC.
King of Siam is the featured track and has a desert caravan meets the ocean feel, all fueled by a volatile mix of surf & cowpunk leading into the mantra-like song title repeated rapidly and beguiling us alongside some hypnotizing garage-punk vocals. Its an insanely strong first effort and should go quite perfectly alongside recovery from the DK show in San Diego on Friday evening. Enjoy.
