[A belated] Happy birthday to Miles Nielsen, the brains and brawn behind Miles Nielsen and the Rusted Hearts! For his birthday, Nielsen felt live giving back to fans after the intense support they’ve shown for recent LP Heavy Metal, so he and The Rusted Hearts have shared a standalone single, “High Street.” The band followed with a video for the song shortly thereafter.
“High Street” offers a different take on Heavy Metal’s alt-country style, instead opting for somber synth lines, waves of guitar arpeggios, and a pristine echo on Nielsen’s signature drawl. Although change and growth is present, the vivid, personal lyricism that made Heavy Metal so resonant hasn’t gone anywhere. [via Marauder Group] |
