Merival: Kicking You Out
Lovers is the new 5-song EP from Toronto, Ontario indie-folk artist Merival, aka Anna Horvath. The EP was reportedly shaped by relationships and reflection before she turned 20, when beauty and transformation were found in heartache. Merival wrote ‘Kicking You Out’ when she was 17, the second excellent single and oldest song on the EP. It’s about someone she’d been in love with for 2 years. She’d never lived with him so she took some artistic liberties there; the idea of kicking him out was more of a premonition she had, that she would carry him with her for years and years after the fact and would need to be continually kicking him out of her mind. So far it’s held true.
Since landing in Toronto in 2012, Merival has been active in the music community, contributing to projects and collaborating with a variety of musicians.
Today’s featured single just arrived January 14th and the entire LOVERS EP is out at the end of this week, January 29th 2016!
