It’s a good day when you stumble across such a soulful track as the downtempo-laced ‘Numb’ by Janelle Kroll via Soundcloud’s explore feature. New York based songwriter Kroll is apparently best known for providing vocals to house legend Dennis Ferrer’s ‘Mind Ur Step’. Success followed topping charts on Beatport/Traxsource, also gathering some good radio placement. She is originally from the musically inclined city of Chicago, an honest and emotive vocalist who takes pride in the human connection found within her music.

‘Numb’ looks to possible be her newest single, a stirring effort, and by far one of the best we’ve heard thus far this year with great crossover potential. It was released a few short weeks back alongside her other excellent track ‘Sunny Days’. Now that she is based in NYC, new music from Janelle Kroll can reportedly be heard live in the flesh at venues like Williamsburg’s Brooklyn Bowl, the Lower East Side’s Pianos, Ella Lounge, and more.
