Katie Buchan (aka Best Girl Athlete) is a 15 year old female indie-folk artist from Aberdeen, Scotland. Her father, Charley was the pivotal inspiration to her musical career. Growing up watching her father perform in various bands, Katie had always played a part in offering critical comments for her father when he needed an honest opinion about his songs. Charley began writing for himself just over the last few years, anchoring his style in contemporary Scottish folk, and with Katie’s involvement has begun to veer towards a more pop direction, whilst firmly retaining that folk element.

Talk comes from Carve Every Word, Best Girl Athlete’s debut album, releasing in the United States under the Minty Fresh label. She’s got a forthcoming American tour in support, and a UK release to boot via Fitlike Records on 2nd March 2015.
