Static Shock: ‘Till Death
LA experimental beatmaker Static Shock has recently created a cohesive sixteen minute aural suite entitled ‘Till Death’, a masterpiece of unique sample laden pieces, each one flowing into the next, all high quality, which can be really rare to find in this style of soundscape, (especially with so unique moments fitting together back-to-back like you find here).
The project has several influences stated, such as producers like DJ Shadow, Madlib, and Cut Chemist. Many of the samples come directly from Static Shock’s late grandparents’ record collection. They both recently passed away, and left him a treasure trove of old vinyl – jazz, big band, blues, and comedy.
This suite was produced as one solid track so that listeners can absorb the entire thing in one sitting and is intended to be one cohesive listening experience, not chopped up into bits and pieces. Get those headphones out, its one of our longest Daily Dose features to date.
