The Smiles: Cala Cola
Los Angeles beach rock group The Smiles released their newest offering called the Hermosa EP in May of 2010. The title of this 6-song EP, crowd-funded for $2,000 off KickStarter, originates from the Southern California city where it was recorded: Hermosa Beach, CA.
Band members intially met at USC in 2009 playing house parties at the campus, moving upwards to KSCR’s annual music fest, followed by a esteemed slot at the UCSD festival Muirfest. March now takes them to Austin where they are thrust into the public limelight playing at South by Southwest at Rusty Spurs on March 16th. This will be followed by the Lovely Hearts Club Showcase @ Uncorked Wine Bar on March 18th. For more bands at the Lovely Hearts Club Showcase at Uncorked, please check out the LHC Mixtape.
The Smiles have also announeced that they will be streaming their new track Roayomes in celebration of their trip to SXSW!
