Cold Fairyland: The Flood
Today brings us a group with a distinctive sonic palette, specifically chosen for the occasion of the Chinese New Year. We’re happy to cue up a live track from the hypnotizing orchestral group from Shanghai, Cold Fairyland, who mix classical music and symphonic progressive rock. This track ‘The Flood’ was specifically taken from a live 2005 release recorded at ARK Music Club in Shanghai, although is very close to studio quality.
So…..Gong Hei Fat Choi and welcome to the Year of the Rabbit, apparently a year in sharp contrast to the Year of the Tiger. We have a year of placidity to look forward to where little will be set in stone; a carefree happy year, full of relaxation. Hopefully we will be providing more good tunes as well.
I’d like to thank GZEXPAT over on Twitter for giving me the idea to feature something in this vein today.
