Pete Yorn: Rock Crowd
On Pete Yorn’s 5th solo album (and his first for Vagrant), producer Frank Black managed to strip Yorn’s typically multi-layered music down to it’s raw soul, while still emphasizing every bit of his songwriting prowess.
Longtime fans will know that Pete Yorn has always thrived on collaboration, and these sessions with Black Francis resulted in a phenomenal record – despite spanning only five days!
We’re highlighting the 2nd track of the album, “Rock Crowd” a heartfelt and upbeat anthem dedicated to his live fans. In fact, the lyric seems to place Yorn at their mercy, reliant on them for every ounce of happiness. “…every morning is a constant struggle, but when I’m with you my life makes perfect sense.”
It’s a bittersweet, brutally honest track that reflects the stripped down musicianship of the album perfectly.
Pete Yorn (S/T) was released on September 28th, 2010. (Snag it @iTunes)
