Derek Clegg, a one-man writing, recording, and producing machine out of Chicago, had sent me a message over at Last.FM the other night – something about a free album. Naturally I’m always curious when someone contacts me outside the normal means, especially when they realize unlocking tracks from the ground floor frees them up for more people to take in their art and spread the word.

So, I naturally gravitated toward listening to the entire album, his fourth called “KJC – The Album” released a few days ago on Last.FM [but officially coming out in 2010 according to his website]. There are lots of good tracks in the mix, and I think I heard shades of Glen Phillips at times. You should definitely go take a listen to these suggested tracks to start: “Adore, Cannot Change, Honest, Hope, Our Old Place, Thaw Yourself”.
