IR: SoCal Double Shot – Beth Hirsch / Lovespirals
Today, we wind down right into the new year with a brand new double shot from two LA based artists, Beth Hirsch as well as the talented Lovespirals, a duo comprised of Anji Bee and Ryan Lum!
You may know Beth Hirsch from her Moon Safari collaboration with the French group Air, and Anji Bee from her wildly popular music show, The Chillcast. Anji actually recently put together an excellent program featuring selections spanning across Beth’s musical career, which you should delve a bit into if you like what you hear in today’s session. Links are below.
Also included as part of the session is a song that was performed live in the studio by Lovespirals and simultaneously cast virtually into the online game Second Life. Not only are musicians performing in-game, but I recently caught some screenshots of the Hollywood Writers Strikers protesting there as well. Trippy!
So…mix a few cocktails, flip on the headphones and gather some inspiration on how to finally make your resolutions last longer than two weeks, while listening to the modern jazz musings of these sultry singers. Here’s to a prosperous ’08 IRL or ISL!
