The page at the FMA claims Martinibomb enjoy cobbling odd songs together from vinyl records, tin cans, sticks and chewing gum, as well as enjoying reading books, collecting records, brewing sake, and watching obscure films.

Check out the links below and be amazed as their efforts are always very inspired. For example check out the newest effort embedded below, a short sample of the video for “Death Ray Samba” their new release on vinyl. More info on this can also be found via their Facebook page.

Five years ago, he was struck by how few pop songs really had a meaningful message, and at the same time he was reading Ray Kurzweil’s The Singularity is Near.

Finfer got the idea for creating songs that explored the themes of the Singularity under the guise of pop music. While his lyrics may sound like they are a stereotypical exploration of love, romance, and youthful bravado, they are actually “a conversation between my future and present selves, I’m sort of talking back and forth through time.”

Grant Martin joined in 2013 to complete the lineup, and they have an ongoing collaboration with Minneapolis cellist Amy Waller.

Demolition Means Progress Their first EP “Destroy as Directed” features song topics ranging from politics to silly road trips to relationships, each with a different musical theme (punk, americana, rock). “Destroy as Directed” has been described as REM meets the Pixies, or Billy Bragg meets Sugar. Think Teenage Fanclub with a cellist, or Murder By Death with shoegaze pedals, the EP has garnered airplay on independent radio stations around the country.

Demolition Means Progress is currently recording their sophomore effort “Lovesongs for Saboteurs.” The LP features songs about work, debt, despair, and love with strong melodies and harmony,

jangly guitar, bass chords, and some cello over layers of reverb that comes close to shoegaze without crossing that event horizon. [bio]

This band is a product of self-expression via experienced musicians who grew up on a fertile ground of traditional weddings of the 90s, town celebrations, and world music festivals around the world.

The band’s music expresses freedom and euphoria of post-soviet spirit and ancient enigma of Russian soul. Open-hearted shows, the multilingual lyrics of “Opa!” and their willingness to give it all to the audience make this wild positive folk remarkable and understandable for everyone around the world.

Poppy Brothers

Poppy Brothers is an American electropop duo consisting of vocalist James Tillman and producer Matthew Taylor. In 2012 the real life brothers released three radically different songs online which ranged from smooth R&B to thick alternative rock. However, it was the slick electropop gem One that caught fire and propelled the brothers to record a full-length album: 2013’s Mark of the Beat. Shortly after the release, the pop duo returned with the even more ambitious collection End of the Rainbow before beginning work on their sophomore LP Sour Fruit, which saw the brothers sharpening their pop credentials on tracks like Dance Floor Forever and Perfect. Less than a year later, the brothers are back again with their fourth release in three years, 2015’s adventurous Dreams of the Newly Awake.” [bio]
