Mute Speaker: Bokator

Brighton UK musician Rob O’Hara is MUTE SPEAKER, currently based in Kampot, Cambodia where he produced the exploratory and psychedelic track ‘Bokator‘ the opening number on his twenty-two song ‘Radio Bokor‘ LP release in late September of 2014.

This is an album of experimental instrumental beats constructed from chopped-up songs from the ‘golden age’ of Cambodian music (60’s to ’75). The samples are reportedly sourced from artists such as Pen Ran, Ros Sereysothea, Sinn Sisamouth, So Savoeun, Meas Samon & Eng Nary, along with some field recordings of his own. This excellent album is currently available under a name-your-price model at the BC link below.
