Brass Bed: I Am Just a Whisper

Brass BedBrass Bed is the lifelong collaboration of Jonny Campos, Christiaan Mader, and Peter DeHart, begun during a bedroom recording session in Lafayette, Louisiana. It has blossomed from studio to stage through changes in lineup, geographic distance, three studio albums, four EPS, a handful of singles, a pair of robberies, and the various life distractions known as growing up.

The group recently signed to Austin label Modern Outsider in the past couple of months, with the promise of more excellent material on the way. The band recently posted the following about their most recent release:

The single’s A-side “I Am Just a Whisper” is easily the most frenetic, anxiety-inducing jangle thrasher BB’s ever produced. We tracked the rave-up with our old pal Danny Reisch (also an Austin product) and featured our dear old Ben “Benjo” Jones of Generationals and Youth Lagoon. Kick over to the B-side to hear our scuzzed out cover of Gene Thomas’s “Sometimes”, a swamp pop standard by way of Flamin; Groovies that we tracked with Chris Woodhouse (Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall) in Sacramento, Ca.
