The Duke of Norfolk: First Day of Spring

The Duke of NorfolkEdinburgh UK (via Oklahoma, US) indie artist Adam Howard, otherwise known as THE DUKE OF NORFOLK, released his debut album “Birds… Fly South!” this past February on the Mint 400 label, and while upcoming season is still a few months out, we’re happy to feature the excellent first single from the album ‘First Day of Spring’ here on the Dose.

We also hope your enjoy the corresponding new video which we’ve embedded further below. The track itself is described as standing in slight opposition to Ode to Winter, the 4th track on “Birds…”, and is about the relief that Spring brings. Adam wrote it on the first warm day after a hard winter they had a few years previous.

RIYL: Josh Ritter, Sufjan Stevens, the Decemberists, Bright Eyes, Avett Brothers, Mumford & Sons, Johnny Flynn
