Dot Dash: Writing on the Wall

Dot DashWashington D.C. band Dot Dash (featured once before on The Network) sent us their second album Winter Garden Light, with the offer that we could post one song as a free MP3 on the Dose. Now, having listened to the whole album, this is tricky, as there are a lot of styles on there. They describe themselves as Post Punk, and there are poppy songs, dark ones, and loud ones, and choosing one track to sum up the album was a challenge. They have been said to have been influenced by a number of UK and US bands from the 80s and 90s, and I got tinges of Psychedelic Furs and The Jam in the track I have chosen for today.

So enjoy Writing on the Wall and head to their Bandcamp page (or iTunes) to get the album.

Oh, and an amazing coincidence. The song has in the lyrics “My Kingdom for a Horse”. Here in the UK, archaeologists think they may have yesterday found the remains of Richard the Third, and that’s just weird.
