Koalacaust: The Woods

Before San Francisco band Koalacaust broke up in October, they left us a few new releases of excellent well formulated material, namely the full length ‘Smiles Shine Like Broken Glass’ last August and the December 2010 split EP with Big Kids.  The former is where today’s track ‘The Woods’ is taken from, an epic pop-punk narrative that comes together quite well, from the urgent vocals to the firing instrumentation.

Here’s a bit of a background sent over by Joe Hughes:  “Koalacaust started in 2008 in LA but has since relocated to San Francisco.  Originally a somewhat folky band, after the loss of their accordion player they added a second guitar and went with a more straight forward pop punk sound”

You can access all their releases on BandCamp, where I believe most are free or alternatively available in physical form at Big Cartel via Mountain Man Music.
