SunbeamA 6-piece baroque pop band from Portland, Oregon, Sunbeam is the brainchild of music producer Brian Hall.

The typical sentiment in modern folk music might be one of melancholy and withdrawal, but Sunbeam aims to evoke, as well, the romanticism of David Bowie, and the childlike wonder of a Shirley Temple film; it’s rare to hear a band explore so many ideas and still remain truly cohesive. Sunbeam is both refreshing and distinct in Portland, for it is neither gimmick nor novelty—it’s a genuine attempt to move past the dredges of indifference and experience life to the fullest. [Bio]

Sunbeam’s debut album, Sunbeam and the Lovely Ghost, is slated for release early this Summer (2011).
