On the Beach: Obituary

On The Beach are a four-piece indie rock band from Durham and Chapel Hill NC in the hallowed vein of post-hardcore band Fugazi. Nagendra and John were in a band called Strunken White from 1996-2001 while John, Rachel and Curtis are in a band we’ve featured here at Insomnia called, “I Was Totally Destroying It”.

Their name comes from the great Nevil Shute novel, as well as the great Neil Young album. The group started out as a studio project but now they’re going to be playing some shows soon as well.

The “Final” EP is due out in July 2009 in digital outlets.
