Katie Herzig: Hologram
April 18, 2009
Written by Charles Stepczyk
Originally born to a musical family in California, Katie has also called Colorado as well as Nashville home. From her early beginnings on backup vocals and drums in the band “Newcomers Home”, Herzig initially suffered from stage fright and confined herself to those instruments, slowly opening up to playing guitar and becoming a lead singer after her humble beginnings in the background.
In 2006 her band broke up and she pursued a solo career which had started with her first album “Watch Them Fall” in 2004. Her most recent release came out in 2008, a new album called “Apple Tree” – named such as the title is mentioned in three separate songs on the album.
In the past few years Katie has joined nine other Nashville musicians in forming “Ten Out of Tenn” a traveling collective of Nashville singer/songwriters. This group consists of: Griffin House, Matthew Perryman Jones, Tyler James, Butterfly Boucher, K.S. Rhoads, Trent Dabbs, Katie Herzig, Jeremy Lister, Andy Davis, and Erin McCarley. Their compilation CD in which this track – Hologram appears, can be found here.

Glad to see she finally overcame the stage fright. she looks a bit more stable up front of the band. Hoping here and the band repeated success in the near future.
Indeed Tony, looks like she's been playing quite a bit with the Ten out of Tenn Collective. Lots of tour dates: http://www.twitter.com/tenoutoftenn
