Cool music. My brother used to play the Violin, and he loves this music. Every time he hears it, he writes down the notes and tries to do it.

Offhand I’d say “The California Guitar Trio” has some of the more interesting classical/contemporary covers utilizing some blazing acoustic guitar. “Zox” also has a nice violin laced cover of Canon that really helped them gather crowds early on when they released their first album in Rhode Island. They mix violin/rock/reggae.

The Black Watch (pre-2000), Porcelain, Yellowcard, Ben Jelen are some other groups that use violin/rock mixtures that may be interesting to you. Hopefully someone else can suggest a few others.
